Intended total procurement: – The planned contract will be divided into several lots. – The total contract value for all the lots added together will be 400 000 EUR-600 000 EUR. This figure is given for information only.

Subject of the contract: On 28 March 2001 the European Commission adopted the action plan 'eLearning, designing tomorrow's education' which forms part of the overall eEurope action plan. This initiative is intended to mobilize the education and cultural sectors, as well as Europe's economic and social players, into speeding up the rate at which education and training systems are being adapted to the knowledge-based society and the digital culture. The contract involves carrying out analysis, evaluation, comparative, feasibility or follow-up studies on themes from those areas the eLearning action plan has defined as being intervention areas (COM (2001) 172 final – 28.3.2001). In particular these studies will look at the competitive nature of the European educational multimedia sectors and at eLearning's resources and the impact it has in the vocational training fields and/or on cross-sectoral issues in the context of lifelong learning.NB: Tenderers can submit a tender for one or more of the lots involved in the contract.
