La rivista Wired ha svelato che venerdì scorso la United States Copyright Royalty Board ha stabilito nuove royalty per il webcasting. La International Webcasting Association ,l’organizzazione che cura gli interessi dei webcaster, da tempo, sostiene una campagna di alleggerimento dei costi: una mossa volta al consolidamento di questo nuovo settore emergente. Di altro avviso i detentori dei diritti di copyright (editori ed artisti) che alla fine – come sempre più spesso avviene nel settore musicale – sono riusciti a strappare alla Copyright Royalty Board aumenti di un certo spessore.
