Le prestazioni a confronto: Office 2007 versus Open Office 2.2

Su ZDNet  è pubblicato un interessante test di prestazioni che confronta OpenOffice 2.2 con Office 2007. I test sono stati effettuati su una macchina recente: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13, 2 GB DDR2-800, ATI X800 PCI-Express Video Card, 500 GB SATA-II hard drive.
A confonto principalmente i tempi di apertura delle singole applicazioni, la memoria occupata e il tempo impiegato per aprire un documento.
In base ai test OpenOffice ne esce battuto, in tutte le prove, da MS Office 🙁   



Per una applicazione completamente gratuita, come Open Office, le prestazioni non sono assolutamente un problema e non sono neanche tanto avvertibili da utenti educational.

Se, però, avete letto in rete che il software open source consente il riuso di hardware particolarmente obsoleto e state pensando di installare Open Office su macchine  con poca memoria fate tesoro di questo test perchè l’occupazione di memoria è doppia rispetto ad Office 😉
